CLIMAVER: A self-supporting Glasswool insulated HVAC duct system

CLIMAVER is a complete self-supporting Glasswool insulated HVAC duct system made by shaping special high density glasswool duct boards. CLIMAVER provides thermal and acoustic benefits in a single operation, without the need for metal ducts.

CLIMAVER system is not continuously locally manufactured as yet in South Africa, but for specific projects and sufficiently large quantities, the full CLIMAVER range can be supplied on special request, provided that  the specific training for installation of CLIMAVER is provided by ISOVER SA.


The CLIMAVER system is a practical solution for HVAC installations as it is a single product replacement for both metal ductwork and lagging.

The fabrication and assembly of the CLIMAVER duct system occurs on site, significantly reducing installation and transport costs. This process allows for precision-cut joints, ensuring very low leakage rates, leading to improved performance and energy savings.

The CLIMAVER duct system enhances the thermal and acoustic comfort of a building whilst maximizing energy efficiency compared to traditional duct systems.

THE CLIMAVER PACKAGE

The ducts are shaped from high-density CLIMAVER boards, faced on both sides with a robust aluminium foil.

The outer facing acts as a vapour barrier and provides a tight seal to the duct system. The smooth inner facing leads to pressure drops equivalent to those produced inside a metallic duct, and allows for easy cleaning.

CLIMAVER duct systems provide good thermal insulation (R 0.75 m2.K/W) with low air leakage, which leads to improved performance and massive energy savings compared to traditional wrapped metal ductwork systems.

From an acoustic point of view, CLIMAVER systems outperform foam ducts and wrapped metal ductwork solutions.

CLIMAVER systems: highly adaptable and lower total installed costs compared to traditional metal duct systems

CLIMAVER systems are lightweight and have faster installation times compared to metal ducts. This reduces costs and material waste. CLIMAVER systems can be made entirely on site making them highly adaptable to changes in design and layout while projects are progressing. Assembly lead-time is very short, as ducts can be assembled and installed on site without any prior manufacturing off site, providing thermal and acoustic insulation in a single operation. Transport costs are drastically reduced as flat CLIMAVER boards are transported instead of hollow metallic ducts.
